15 Second Update - Improving pre-cut Terrain

I've a couple of posts I'm currently updating and thought I'd pop this one on just as a quick placeholder as it's a nice little tip. Here are some kiss-cut asteroids from Spartan Games;

Now these are very nice and a great piece of starter terrain - but as you can see in the photo above, one of them looks a little better than the others somehow...it's actually much more noticeable in person - have you spotted it? The white edges of the card on the kiss-cut tend to subconsciously draw your eye, whereas the asteroid on the right looks more like part of the gaming table than a thrown down piece of card. Fortunately, getting rid of this edge effect is a doddle.

Simply take a black permanent marker pen, like the one above...

And go around the edge of the asteroid. The largest one in the set takes literally 15 seconds (yes, I did time it!), and the on-table effect is noticeable (or rather it becomes un-noticeable!). It's a ridiculously easy thing t do, requiring no skill and it really makes these terrain pieces pop - because your eye is taking in the asteroid, and not the little flashes of white edges.

Proper posts will follow in the next couple of days, so see you then!
